Cardrooms have existed in California for over 150 years, with 66 cardrooms currently in operation. California cardrooms range in size from small businesses with only one or two tables to the largest cardroom in the world with 270 tables. California card rooms have a rich history that harkens back to the gold rush era and the wild west frontier days. Unlike tribal casinos, California card rooms are subject to full state and federal taxes, and are major contributors to their local municipality operating funds and community engagement initiatives.
No House-Banked Games
By regulation, California card rooms do not offer house-banked games. Instead, they facilitate card games in which players play against each other. Card room players have the opportunity to take a rotating bank and wager as the Player/Dealer. Unlike Las Vegas and Tribal Casinos, the casino itself is never involved in the action.

Knighted Ventures is California’s premier Third-Party Provider of Proposition Player Services, TPPPPS, which include participating in card games with a rotating Player-Dealer position. The main responsibility of our Gaming Associates is to take turns as Player/Dealer, ensuring regulatory compliance and upholding the integrity of the game. Every team member completes a challenging qualification and training process, upholding Knighted’s commitment to setting the industry bar for professionalism, integrity, and leadership.
